I stumbled upon this cafe on Instagram and was immediately attracted to the place because of the portrayed ambiance. I've been to Mok Mok in Taman Pelangi so i wanted to see how this cafe fared.
This cafe seems so different with the dried flowers hanging from the ceiling plus the dim lights - it's so Instagram worthy some might say. I heard it was quite difficult to get a table immediately and usually there was always a que so me n my gf actually went before peak hours on a weekday and reached just before noon. There wasn't a que yet, but most of the tables were already occupied. The cafe is easily reachable via Waze and u wont miss the black decor outside.
Upon entering the place, i was stunned as it seemed magical and we noticed that everyone had their camera phones out. However, the dim lights made photo taking a bit of a challenge.
There were quite a lot on the menu and we wanted to try something different. We had the duck ramen (rm28) and the unagi poke bowl (rm 38) Our poke bowl wasn't bad but the noodles were a bit bland. The highlight of the day wes of course the souffle like pancakes or kumo ultimo. (rm 22) We ordered the one with fresh mango. We could see it wobble making its way to our table and it was still steamy when it reached us. The souffle practically melts in your mouth and it was just right- not to sweet and we licked the plate clean.
However, we wished the mango was sweeter and riper, because the mango quality would determine it all. We also tried the egg pufflets (rm 18) and the waitress suggested the monkey business- chocolate and caramelized banana. It was like waffles actually, nothing extra ordinary and the banana was not well caramelized but nevertheless, they were generous with it.
They have various types of tea and it was refreshing when paired with the heavy meals. It comes with 2 cups so its for sharing and its actually free flow. It was a bit fancy tho as they used dry ice for the presentation and it looked like a potion from the harry potter movie. We tried "a bloom for you." The coffee wasn't bad either and i love the way they served it- in cute metal cups and colorful coasters.
Overall its a good place to unwind and share your desserts.
So, would i come again? I would for the ambiance and wobbly pancake!
