August Cafe

Situated in Jalan Tan Hiok Nee, the hipster area in town- this cafe can be easily missed as it's not visible from the main road and it is situated in between buildings. The front view looks pretty, amidst the row with its simple white paint and huge window. The decor is splendid and they have a cake counter which is absolutely divine! Its a 2 storey cafe and they have ample space upstairs with a communal table if u come in a large group. I've been here a few times and it is a nice place to chill and unwind as it is pretty cosy and quiet.

We had the pink salmon which was lovely but obviously not a sharing portion. The skin was just crisp enough and they served it with creamy mash.

The creamy hot shrimp pasta was also delicious and rich. They were very generous with the prawns.

Their august steak sandwich was average as it was a bit dry for my liking. We also tried something fusion which was beef lemak cili padi pasta. I have tried a few similar dishes before but theirs was spot on.

As for desserts, nothing beats their basque burnt cheesecake. It was so creamy and flavourful. The lemon curd cake was a bit too sweet for me though.

Their coffee was good but don't bother to try the onde-onde coffee. Nothing special about it,there was only a dash of desiccated coconut on it and u really cant figure out the onde- onde taste.

You guys should try the thirst quenchers though, my favourite would be the lychee mint ice blended. I would say this place is pretty decent.

So would i come again? yes... but get a grab. Parking can be a bit difficult. They are open daily from 1030-6pm and close on Fridays.
