I've been to this cafe so many times since it started opening its doors and I've never been disappointed yet and I've tried mostly everything on the menu.. Hahaha
I first saw it on Facebook and I was attracted by its menu and ambiance as they claimed that they were serving 'melbournian' brunch and coffee and i wanted to check it out as i had just gotten back from cafe hopping in Melbourne.
The location was quite odd- it was actually situated in an industrialized area near Taman Mount Austin - I almost lost my way but fortunately for Waze and the big signage, you can actually see it from the roadside. The cafe is located in an industrial warehouse at the ground floor and its occupied next to a furniture shop. It has great decor and ambiance which did remind me of Melbourne... and the hustling and bustling of the crowd also was a close resemblance to what i experienced in Melbourne.
Be prepared to wait for a seat if you come during peak hours. The staff was impressive and knew their menu and food well. They were ready to guide you and were friendly and i rarely see this in local cafes.
Now lets talk about the food. Since I've eaten almost everything on the menu, my favourite would be the quesadilla brekkie. It's really addictive and has a local twist which reminds me of tom yam.
For those who wants to indulge in something vegetarian- I would suggest the Mess of plants. Roasted vegetables with couscous and lots of other healthy stuff which is actually filling and surprisingly delicious.
Roasted chicken leg is also a winner and the chicken is so moist and the spiced lentil in it reminded me of tandoori. Last but not least of course is the famous signature Melbourne hotcakes. For those who are not familiar with it, don't expect something like pancakes. They are more like butter cake instead served with a dollop of cream and berries.
Take note that the portions served here are big and could easily be shared among 2 people. So it'll be just perfect if you brought a bunch of friends over and share a few dishes.. and always order coffee with your meal... they serve good coffee :)
So, would i come here again? definitely..
